Amit Inbar is leading the surfing scene in Israel. Amit established Kiteaway - Kitesurf school nearby the best surfing spots in Israel.Amit Inbar was born in Michmoret, a small beautiful village located by the beach in the country's midland.
Most of his days were spent in the magical "play ground" of his back yard - the beach, where he learned the wonders and secrets of the sea and made his entry to the world of surffing.
Amit started surfing on his 7th birthday, the day he got a present from his parents: a surf board that very quickly became his best friend. Hours and hours Amit fooled around with his new "friend" and made his first steps in learning, loving and admiring the sea.Amit's relationship with the sea gave him many tools for the future in becoming a true sportsman, and led him to open a great career in the wind surfing world.Starting to gain medals…
Amit began to establish his place as Isreal's # 1 in the field and during his career he won the Israeli championship 7 times.…parallel to that Amit was recognized world wide, and for 18 years was in the top ten best wind surfers in the world.His total dedication through hard work and training paid up. In 1990 Amit was ranked #1 in the world.Amit has set the next goal and dream of any athlete: the Olympics.Amit is collecting trophies……In 1992 Amit was ranked # 2 in the world, the following year he became # 1in the world again.In 1992 Amit fulfilled his dream and represented Israel in 1992 BARCELONAS Olimpic games.In 1997 Amit repeated this great achievement and once again became Europe's champion in Greece. In this year he was ranked again # 1 in the world.
Amit became a world wide leading figure in the wind surfing field.Over the years, Amit has developed unique techniques and special training methods that are used by trainers' world wide. He has dedicated his entire life to the sea and surf Only one medal is missing….
Despite all Amits titles and medals he did not fulfill his main dream. There was only one medal missing, a gold Olympic medal.Amit started to train hard for the next Olympic: Sydney 2000. In the year 2000 once again Amit participated in the Sydney Olympics. In these games Amit reached the 7th place and decided to retire from competitive wind surfing and found a new passion. Kite surfing-falling in love Amits next goal was to "conquer" the kite surfing world. Straight after Sydney 2000 Amit began a new exciting journey in the world of kite surfing.
